BRIEF HISTORY OF THE POLYTECHNIC

The dream to establish “The Polytechnic Omuo-Ekiti” was divinely mooted by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) under the Chairmanship of Rev. Ayo Omodiji during the 2013 New Year Prayer at the Palace of His Majesty the Olomuo of Omuo kingdom Oba (Dr) Noah Adejuwon Omonigbehin JP.

The idea was sold to Olomuo-in-Council while the Omuo Higher Education Committee (OHEC) under the Chairmanship of Mr Jimmy Ajobiewe JP, was inaugurated to superintend the establishment of the Polytechnic.

The first meeting of the Governing Council was inaugurated on August 15, 2015 comprising Thirty-two (32) members.

The Council midwifes the birth of the Institution with the formal approval by the Minister of Education in January 2022.

 Consequently, a new governing council for the institution was inaugurated on March 28, 2022.

The members of the council are:

The Operating Licence was issued on August 17, 2022, by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to admit students for three Academic programmes i.e Electrical/|Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Public Administration for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The vision and mission of the Institution are:

The Vision of The Polytechnic, Omuo-Ekiti is to produce technologically minded and competent graduates who would meet the contemporary global needs in items of manpower and efficient service delivery.
